27464505Don’t you just love a good book! One of my most favorite things to do is read a good book. I love getting wrapped up in a page turner, a book that keeps my attention page after page. This past week I was a little under the weather, so I took the opportunity to do that something I enjoy.

I recently asked my cousin Shannon if she had any good recommendations on what to read. She suggested a book called Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. So, with the extra time to recoup, I decided to curl up and read what Shannon suggested…and of course to find out why she suggested this one. I quickly found out why!

I would love to tell you all about this incredible book, but I don’t want to spoil it for you. And, honestly, I just do not know where to begin. Just trust me and pick up a copy at your local bookstore…along with a box of tissue. Don’t worry it is full of funny too. (I found myself laughing out loud, waking the dog, and him looking at me like I had lost it!)

I continue to think about what I read and to be both convicted and inspired by it. I long to live with the unconditional love and compassion for others embodied by the characters in this book. And I am inspired by their enduring strength and courage.

Please let me know what you think if you read this book. I would love to compare notes and hear what you gained from the lives of these individuals.

And, I am looking for another good book to read! If you have any suggestions on a good page turner, please send them my way! By the way, thank you Shannon! I now know why you recommended this one.

I’ll have to check this one out. You know me and books :-) Thanks for the recommendation! Have you read “The Shack”? Very interesting read.

I read this book and LOVED it. It’s set in Fort Worth where I work and I’ve done tobacco presentations to kids at a shelter across the street from where this is set. I rarely make time to read but couldn’t put this down. It was great.
